Honoring John “Lucky” Luckadoo
In honor of our nation’s veterans, we welcome the Freedom Flyers‘ P-51D “Pecos Bill” to the Museum. WWII veterans attending the event have an opportunity to win a free flight in this iconic aircraft by entering a drawing the day of the event. Must be present and physically able to fly in order to win. Aircraft appearance subject to change without notice due to weather and/or maintenance.

Hear Apache Pilot, Daniel Flores
Hear the experiences of pilot, Daniel Flores, as he takes you into the cockpit of the AH-64 “Apache” flying combat missions in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan. Daniel is our honorary 2018 Luckadoo Annual Lecture speaker. Following his presentation, Daniel will be available to sign copies of his combat memoir, South of Heaven: My Year in Afghanistan.
Hear Wounded Warrior, Deven Schei
A brother’s promise kept, Deven joined the U.S. Army to finish the job his brother, Erik, began in Operation Iraqi Freedom. While serving in Iraq, a sniper’s bullet rendered Erik a quadriplegic. Fate dealt its hand to Deven in Afghanistan when four 80mm rockets ended his tour. Following 17 surgeries, Deven finds inspiration from his brother and veterans he meets as a spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Meet Naval Aviator & Author, Marc Liebman
Capt. Liebman is a veteran Navy helicopter pilot who flew SAR missions in Vietnam, Special Ops in the Tanker Wars, and Operation Desert Storm. Now an acclaimed author, Marc combines his experiences into gripping fictional works. Marc will be available to sign copies of his book series.
Meet Continental Airlines Flight Attendant, B.J. Prior
As a young Continental Airlines stewardess, B.J. Prior served our nation in a unique manner during the Vietnam War. From 1969-1971, B.J. flew Military Airlift Command (MAC) operations transporting U.S. troops in and out of Vietnam. Following her presentation, B.J. will be available to sign copies of her memoir, Behind My Wings: Untold Stories of Vietnam Vets.
Enjoy tunes from the 1940s through the 1970s from renowned Dallas jazz vocalist, Aubrey Slaver. Accompanied by a keyboard and saxophone, Aubrey’s smooth sounds and sultry voice takes you back to the Sinatra-era of jazz and entertains visitors of all ages!
We are proud to partner with Operation Gratitude, an organization which has delivered over two million care packages to deployed military personnel, veterans, and first responders since 2003. Every active duty military or veteran attending this Museum event will receive a care package as a thank you for serving our nation.
In addition to care packages for attending veterans and active-duty military, the Museum is hosting a collection drive in partnership with Operation Gratitude for deployed troops through August 18, 2018.
A collection bin is located in front of the Museum’s model shop for the following items:

- Wipes (30 or fewer)
