Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the publication of Jane Austen's "Persuasion," the Jane Austen Society North Texas Region will be meeting Sunday afternoon, September 9 to hear fascinating lectures and conduct discussion of the novel. Dr. Cheryl Kinney, with unique perspective as a medical doctor, will speak on how injury in the novel influences the characters and the story. In addition, Dr. Kathryn Davis will discuss how Lady Russell, whose influence catalyzes the plot, takes up a "new set of opinions and hopes."
