The Sukkah Project, Dwell in Design

Museum of Biblical Art - The MBA

The Texas Jewish Arts Association welcomes you to The Sukkah Project: Dwell in Design – a design competition to which local and national architects were invited to submit their most creative and innovative sukkah designs.  Go here to see the winning sukkahs!

Join us on Sunday, Sept. 23 from 11 am to 4 pm, for our Opening Day Event celebration!  The day will include tours of the 10 winning sukkahs; an Artists’ Village Vendor Fair, with artists selected by juror Jordan Roth of RO2 Art Gallery; puppet shows at 11:30 and 2:30 by professional puppeteer Lynn Baskind; kids activities throughout the day; and food trucks.  Other events include:  award ceremony at 12:30; dance and music performances throughout the afternoon.  Click here for full schedule of events.

A panel of expert judges selected 10 of the most outstanding and creative sukkah designs entered into the competition. The winners will build a life-sized, modern artistic interpretation of a sukkah, which will be displayed on the lawn of the Museum of Biblical Art, 7500 Park Lane, Dallas, September 20 - 27, 2018.  Each sukkah will display the architect(s) name(s) and architectural vision statement.  There will also be an audio tour in which each architect explains their vision.

The exhibition is free to the public Friday & Saturday, Sept. 20 & 21; and Monday - Thursday, Sept. 24 - 27.  On Sunday, Sept. 23rd, during the Opening Day Event, there will be a $5 entry fee per adult which will be donated to our designated beneficiaries.
