Join us for an evening of poetry and music with author Derrick C. Brown and musician Lizzy Ellison of Cardioid.
After touring individually throughout 2018, Derrick and Lizzy have merged talents to form CUSS CUSS: a project that combines what they each do best into beautiful chapter-like performances, moving from poetry to music and back seamlessly.
Cardioid has been a concept in Lizzy Ellison’s mind for years, although it wasn’t fully realized until the summer of 2016. The project is a focus on listening to our own creative selves, removing ego, and allowing what is inside to flourish. Cardioid’s full-length Parts Dept. which is a record about love, loss, personal direction, and their constant repetition in our lives. As the creative force behind Cardioid, Lizzy and the band recently spent a week in Joshua Tree recording their new album.
