Texas Gypsies Jazz Band

Nicholson Memorial Library System - Central Library

Enjoy an afternoon of jazz music as the Nicholson Memorial Library System presents the Texas Gypsies at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 9, at the Central Library, 625 Austin St., in Downtown Garland.

Based in DFW, the Texas Gypsies are known for their unique interpretation of classic jazz, swing, and big band music from the 1920s through the 1940s. They also perform Parisian swing, Gypsy jazz, Bourbon Street jazz, and Western or Texas swing. For this performance, Texas Gypsies’ five-piece band will present an hour of 1920s jazz.

This event is part of the Adult Summer Reading Program and was made possible by a Texas Commission on the Arts Texas Touring Arts Program grant and the Friends of the Library. It is free and open to adults ages 18 and older. Registration is not required, but seating is limited. Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time. Due to ongoing construction, event locations are subject to change. Please visit our website, www.library.garlandtx.gov, for the latest information.
