The Black Panther Party in a City Near You tells the story of the Panther branches in four cities: Dallas, Boston, Atlanta, and Washington, DC. The authors maintain that “the Black Panther Party’s success is owed largely to those Panthers who are virtually unknown to the wider public.” Come learn more about the untold story of the Panthers working at the grassroots level building the “survival programs” that were the foundation of the party’s bond with the people. The event is FREE and open to the public.
Former Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Diane Ragsdale will moderate a panel with Rev. Dr. Leroy Haynes, Jr., Marvin Crenshaw, Skip Shockley, Sister Sonceria Messiah, and B.L.
