Route 66 Pop-Up Books

Explore pop-up book design and structures to highlight your imaginary travels along historic Route 66.

Tag, You’re It! Graffiti and Street Art Inspired Creations
(Visual Arts/Drawing & Painting/Graphic Design)
Learn about the history of Street Art in Los Angeles while creating a graffiti-style “tag.” Campers are invited to design a signature using lettering of their own design, then express themselves collectively on a temporary wall installation. Vibrant colors “sprayed” onto paper designs give the look of an aerosol spray painting without the hazard or mess.

Sea Shell Shadow Boxes

Inspired by the Pacific coast, campers will create shadow boxes with seashells and hand-painted shoreline backgrounds.

Beginning to Intermediate Violin
(Music)
This popular class is designed to give young players their first hands-on experience with string instruments with an emphasis on the violin. Students will learn correct posture and instrument position, left-hand technique, right-hand technique and basic music reading. Instruments are provided. Students that already play may bring their instruments to class for extra instruction and enrichment.
