Jr. Aviators Workshop 1st & 2nd grade
(Jun 11-Jun 15; Jul 16-Jul 20)
- Jr. aviators experience the wonder of flight from man-made flying machines to the natural world of insects and birds through engaging activities.
- Students learn the parts of an airplane and their function, the International Phonetic Alphabet, compete in paper airplane challenges, perform wind tube experiments to see how moving air affects different objects, discover the importance of weather and seasonal changes to the migration of birds and butterflies, and learn how bees pollinate flowers by a local beekeeper.
- Students take a field trip to the Texas Discovery Garden to explore flight in the natural world.
