The MWE will conclude its 2017-18 concert season with fireworks in the form of Michael Daugherty’s Firecracker! for oboe and chamber orchestra, featuring Meadows oboist Abigail Hawthorne; the original setting of Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring; and (assuming Firecracker! doesn’t frighten away the birds!)
