Castle Hills Village Shops & Plaza

Go to Funkytown and Get All Shook Up at the 2018 Castle Hills Concert Series

Series Features “Best Disco Band in the World” and Elvis Tribute Concert

Castle Hills residents and neighbors are invited to enjoy two FREE outdoor concerts and fun, family activities as part of the 4th Annual Castle Hills Concert Series. Concert-goers can boogie with Le Freak on Saturday, May 19, and bust out their blue suede shoes with Kraig Parker, an Elvis Presley tribute artist, on Saturday, June 16. This year’s concert series is presented by the City of Lewisville, in partnership with Castle Hills developer Bright Realty and Platinum Sponsor Vector Security. The events start at 6:30 p.m. and bands take the stage from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The concerts take place at the Castle Hills Village Shops at 2540 King Arthur Boulevard in the master-planned Castle Hills community in Lewisville.

Le Freak, described as the “best disco band in the world,” opens the concert series with tributes to classic disco-era artists like Rick James, Wild Cherry, The Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, The Village People, Donna Summer and Kool & the Gang. Guests can get groovy to songs like “Boogie Nights,” “Super Freak,” “Give it to Me, Baby” and “I Will Survive.”

Come early to reserve your spot in front of the main stage built for the event on Lady of the Lake. Spread out on blankets and in lawn chairs with the whole family. Family-friendly activities include bounce houses, balloon artists, a petting zoo and face painters.

Craft beer will be available for purchase at TKO Libations’ Beer Tent, the Village Shops very own craft brewery that leverages local sources and natural ingredients for unique flavor pairings.  Chef Cassy’s Creations food truck will be near the main stage serving barbeque and cocktails in pineapples; Freebirds will also be on-site offering a menu of burritos, nachos, street tacos and tostadas.

The concert series continues on Saturday, June 16, with Kraig Parker, an Elvis Presley tribute artist, and his 10-piece band for a long list of Elvis classics such as “Jailhouse Rock,” “Love Me Tender” and “All Shook Up.” Parker is one of the top Elvis tribute artists in the world, having performed from Las Vegas to London. The Castle Hills Village Shops calendar of events also includes a Classic Car & Truck Show on Sunday, May 20, at 10 a.m.

All concert-goers are encouraged to enjoy a pre-concert meal or post-concert drink at one of several Village Shop’s restaurants. The Salty Cow, an artisan cheese and provisions shop, is open until 8 p.m.  The London Baker, the newest Village Shops retailer specializing in edible works of cake art and pastries, is open until 6:30 p.m.  PI.E 3.14 Everyday Eatery, open until 10 p.m. for food and later for drinks, specializes in signature pizzas and a one-of-a-kind drink menu.
