Madeleine Terry: Treasures of the Spirit

Haley-Henman presents the open studio of Madeleine Terry, titled Treasures of the Spirit. In these new mixed media sculptures, she uses natural gourds as the primary material and source of her inspiration. Terry is a conceptual artist. For this open studio, we have selected an intimate, small scale. These sculptures emphasize details that are significant to the overall form. In that sense, each element contributes to the narrative of meaning and value. The leitmotif concerns connections to ancient cultural wisdoms. She is deeply influenced by our indigenous peoples, yogic practices, and Buddhist teachings. Terry uses these references to make connections from the past to the present.

The studio will be open for Terry to receive guest on Sunday, May 6 from 2-5 pm. A conversation with Terry will be on Saturday, May 12 at 1 pm.
