Dallas is home to a variety of artists and artistic practices. One of the more recent topics among this group has been around the works and world of new media. In this in-depth panel discussion, we will be taking a dive into this world, including how these artists came about their practices and what it is like to be a producing and working artist in Dallas.
This panel discussion will feature four Dallas-based visual artists and will be moderated by Erica Felicella, a curator, creative professional and practicing artist based out of Dallas, Texas.
This event is presented by Array. Array is a one night only, music, art and technology experience, focused on bridging the gap between creative worlds. Array will take place on May 12 at The Bomb Factory and Canton Hall. Collaborations include Nas with members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Big Gigantic with the Dallas Mavericks Drumline, Kaleo with the Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet, and Jacob Banks with the Booker T. Washington HSPVA Gospel Choir, with additional performances featuring Cure for Paranoia & Zhora. The event also includes an interactive art installation with six new works by Dallas-based visual artists commissioned just for Array.
Array is part of the SOLUNA International Music & Arts Festival, running from May 6-28 here in Dallas. SOLUNA is a festival for Dallas, bringing together international artists with Dallas’s finest arts organizations. Anchored by performances with Jaap van Zweden at the close of his Farewell Celebration Season as Music Director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, SOLUNA celebrates Dallas’s rich cultural legacy and diversity of expression. By incorporating contemporary and performing arts and strong educational and science components, audiences are invited to experience music and art while interacting with their Dallas community in new and exciting ways.
Tickets to Array are available here.
