Garland Civic Theatre presents the World’s longest-running musical The Fantasticks at the Granville Arts Center in Downtown Garland. This legendary musical opens with a preview performance on Thursday, April 12 and runs Fridays through Sundays, April 13-29.
The Granville Arts Center’s namesake, Patty Granville, will direct this funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. At the heart of The Fantasticks is breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication that transcends cultural barriers. The result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart, and finally find their way back to each other after realizing the truth in "without a hurt, the heart is hollow."
