H Schenck, Runaway Boy

Eastfield College Arts Collective

H Schenck’s work explores the inherent potential of various materials, such as foam, fabric, wood, and found objects, “using the discovered traits as a language”. In Runaway Boy., he makes use of seemingly disparate objects and materials, “each acting as a single word within the context of a sculptural sentence”. “The result is an exhibition/narrative about deconstructing the human experience.”

H Schenck currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex working as an artist and educator. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Printmaking at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and his Master’s degree in Intermedia from the University of Texas Arlington, Texas. He is the co-creator of the social project, Mud Campaign, and a curatorial member of BEEFHAUS Gallery. Schenck has been awarded funding from the Dallas Museum of Art, the MAC of Dallas, Southern Graphics Council International, Lawrence University, and Penland School of Crafts. His work has been exhibited nationally and in Berlin, Germany. This fall, he will be an acting Emerging Artist in Residence at Pilchuck School of Glass in Stanwood, Washington.
