DIY PRINTMAKING WITH ZEKE PENA: 11 am-1 pm
ALL AGES
In the traditions of Taller Grafica Popular participants will use printmaking and mixed-media to create their own works on paper using border iconography and text inspired by comic books. Participants will learn about the process of printing with accessible + affordable materials. Each participant will leave with their own print.
ELECTRIC BEAN: E-TEXTILES + NATURAL DYES WITH MUSTANG JANE: 12-4 pm
ADULT WORKSHOP
In this four hour workshop students will combine the ancient art of natural dyes with contemporary e-textiles techniques! Students will learn how to dye cloth with black beans, open a textile circuit and two types of soft switches, and go home with a sweet, twinkly, magical creation. FILM VIEWING OF QUIEN BIEN AMA NUNCA OLVIDA BY CAITLIN DIAZ: 1-2 pm
Quien bien ama nunca olvida is a filmic diary meets love letter to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. The film celebrates the area's landscape and history, while analyzing societal norms and machismo through internal monologue.

ZINE MAKING WITH TERESITA DE LA TORRE: 2-4 pm
ALL AGES
A zine is a self-published mini-magazine. Learn how to fold and cut a 22” x 30” single sheet of paper to create a 8 page zine. Participants will explore dry media such as graphite and ink to create a zine inspired by the borderlands.
