MFA Thesis Exhibition - the pressure applied work by Hayley Fowler
Hayley Fowler’s practice is informed by ideas of labor, value, and materiality. Through acts that are time-consuming and strenuous, Fowler questions the worth of her own efforts, while responding to material and space. the pressure applied is another step in the process of examining the relationship between herself and her works, emphasizing her body’s efforts and the physical struggle that can occur when moving and deconstructing materials.
