Inspired by Vision

The Center: Artspace and Studios

The North Texas Asian Photographers' Association presents "Inspired by Vision", a photography exhibition.

Vision is the art of seeing the invisible. It is not just "seeing" or “sight”, instead, it is an insight. It is the ability to see something that only you can see with your mind, something that others do not see because this something does not have a physical reality. This something only exists in your imagination, something that is within yourself. A vision is an idea or a concept. It can be made real through the creation of photographs that expresses this vision. In essence, it is making poetry through photographs. It goes beyond the technical knowledge of the camera and reaches the artistic level. It goes beyond mastery of the camera and reaches improvisation and self-expression. The goal of these photographs is then to express, communicate, and share these ideas with the audience.

The members of North Texas Asian Photographers' Association (NTAPA) strive to be inspired by vision.  The members attend events in town for capturing the moments to be memorized, visit local and national parks for the beauty of nature and focuses on every detail that can possibly be a subject of an artwork.  The members strive for a goal to reach out for inspiration by great ideas, great vision and great workmanship.

North Texas Asian Photographer's Association (NTAPA) was established in 2003 by a group of people who share a passion for photography, personal well-being, and environmental stewardship. NTAPA provides education, information, inspiration and opportunity to all persons interested in photography. NTAPA is also a proud member of Photographic Society of America (PSA). In 2014 the association was incorporated as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

Each year, members travel from pole to pole to capture dramatic and award-winning photographs. Since its establishment, NTAPA has continued to promote the art of photography as means of communication, image appreciation, and cultural exchange in DFW and its surrounding communities by: hosting exhibitions at Garland Granville, Irving, Richardson Eisemann Art Center, etc., open exchange community events, free community photography service, public photography education programs, and weekly newspaper column.
