One of them has played for a pope and European royalty, one has a musical arrangement that will be featured at the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong, and one of them was self-taught from age 11 until age 17 and is now a principal with the UNT Symphony Orchestra. All three of them have been winners of the University of North Texas Concerto Competition, and all are pursuing degrees at the prestigious College of Music at UNT. Harpist Ruth Mertens will perform with Lana Kuscer, flute, and Eduardo Rios, viola, at the last Lewisville Lake Symphony International Chamber Concert of the 2017-18 season.
