Watercolor and Charcoal Pour Workshop

In this four-day workshop, students will actually pour a big bucket of water onto a surface sprinkled with charcoal powder before adding watercolor and collage. The instructor will introduce new drawing techniques to take students’ paintings to the next level, as well as new ways to establish texture using collage papers and different surface treatments for special effects.

Minnesotan artist Karen Knutson is known for her enthusiastic demonstrations and believes painting should be fun. She enjoys watercolor because of its free and wild qualities, forcing the artist to adjust to its many moods. She recently began to explore collage and acrylics, which produces wonderful textures and color discoveries. A signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and many other art societies, Karen has been featured in numerous galleries and art publications.

Class meets November 1-4, 2018 (Thursday - Sunday) 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
