Sammons Jazz: Leigh Tomlinson Memorial Concert

Singer-songwriter Ashleigh Smith, a Georgia native who now calls Dallas home, shows why she won the 2014 Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition crown in 2014. Her band includes Nigel Rivers on bass, Shelton Summons on piano, Cleon Edwards on drums, and Josh Boyd on guitar.

Joel Cross’ talent and dedication as a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter has captured attention around the globe, including that of Grammy Award®-winning singer India Arie. Expect a captivating second set featuring Joel and his band, Colin Campbell on keys, Mike Luzecky on bass, and Jonny Harmon on drums with background vocals by Erin Cross, Danette Allen, and Angela Cross.

Sammons Jazz is held at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. Tickets are $45 per person and include beverages, a light meal, and valet parking. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; the concert begins approximately at 7:30 p.m. There are two performance sets of about 40 minutes each with an intermission between. Dress is casual.
