Outta Site 70s Granada Concert with Captain & Camille and the Woodrow Band

Granada Theater

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, the Woodrow Wildcat Band will hold its fifth annual concert fundraiser at the historic Granada Theater. This year will be a tribute to the music of the 70’s, with guest vocalists from the popular local band, Captain & Camille. The fabulous Woodrow Jazz Band will be featured as the opening act.

'This is more than just a high school concert.  This is a show with complete orchestration of some of the best 70s music", says Chris Evetts.

The Woodrow Wilson High School Band, under Director Chris Evetts, has grown from less than 20 students in 2012 to 114 this year. The band has performed at charity and community events, including the Veteran’s Day Parade, Light-Up Lakewood, the Swiss Avenue Home Tour, and even marched in the Disney World Parade in 2015 and performed at Jackson Square in New Orleans in spring of 2017. Many students have qualified for All-City and All-Region Bands, and advanced to state level Solo & Ensemble competition. The Wildcat Band attained full Varsity 5A status in 2015 and has scored all 1’s at both UIL marching and concert competitions in 2016 and 2017. In October, the band advanced to the Area marching contest, which was a first in Woodrow history. Proceeds from this concert will be used for scholarships for students who are unable to afford private lessons or band fees, and the purchase of much needed new instruments that are not provided by the district.

Tickets are just $20 for adults and $10 for students.  Please join us for a very fun show.  Can't make it, but want to support the band?  Please consider a sponsorship.
