The Aging Brain: Cognitive Health for Life

King of Glory Lutheran Church

The Center for Vital Longevity at UT–Dallas houses a large group of scientists studying how aging affects the brain and mind and ways to maintain cognitive health for life. One of the Center’s researchers, Chris Foster, Ph.D., will discuss changes in cognition that are normal aspects of the aging process and those that are associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The demarcation between these two states is often unclear, and much research aims at clarifying the difference between healthy and unhealthy aging. Researchers at UT–Dallas are working to develop methods for early detection of age-related neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease.
