The Stewpot Alliance Soup's On! Luncheon and Art Sale

The 10th annual Stewpot Alliance Soup’s On! Luncheon and Art Sale will be held Monday, January 29 (11am-1:15 pm) at the recently renovated Statler Hotel. The Stewpot has provided meals to homeless and at-risk neighbors in downtown Dallas for more than 40 years. Programs and partnerships have developed to support medical and dental needs, counseling and case management, youth and family stabilization programs, therapeutic and vocational activities.  The Stewpot Alliance has contributed close to 2.5 million dollars to The Stewpot.

The Stewpot Alliance Soup’s On! Luncheon and Art Show features ten of Dallas’ finest chefs serving up a signature soup as the first course of the meal.  Chefs include Chef Chair Brian C. Luscher of The Grape, Graham Dodds, The Statler; Omar Flores, Whistlebritches, Danyele McPherson, 8020 Hospitality; Suki Otsuki, Mudhen Meat and Greens; Caroline Perini, Easy Slider; Janice Provost, Parigi, Jeremie Robison, City Hall Bistro, Abraham Salum, Salum and  Anastacia Quinones, Oddfellows.

Keynote speakers Kristina Wandzilak and Constance Curry will share their heartfelt story about the homelessness resulting from drug and alcohol abuse chronicled in their memoir “The Lost Years”.  

Stewpot Alliance Luncheon founders  Rusty Duvall, Janet Evans, Dian Moore, Bonnie Mastin, Debbie Raynor and Bonnie Thompson serve as Honorary Chairs of the 2018 luncheon, chaired by Stewpot Alliance board members Kelly Donohue Garlock and Allison Salas Fasy. 

The luncheon includes an art sale of original paintings from artists of the Stewpot Open Art Program.

Since its inception, The Stewpot has embraced the concept that transformation and growth take place when a person’s basic needs are met and creative spirit is nourished.  In 2013, The Stewpot helped birth Encore Park, a new nonprofit that includes a community garden and amphitheater at 508 Park, across from The Stewpot.  Additional expansion is planned to house partner agencies and programs at an adjoining property, 515 Park.
