Dr. Pamela Mia Paul, Regents Professor at the University of North Texas and a Steinway artist, has an eye for talent, as proven by her selection as a one of 5 judges in the international screening jury of the 2017 Van Cliburn Competition. She chooses her students carefully. One of these doctoral students, Dongni Xie, will perform at the January 26 Lewisville Lake Symphony International Chamber Series concert .
Xie was the Gold Medalist of the Odyssiad International Competition, the American Music Competition, and the SAI Young Artist Competition. She has performed in the United States, Europe, and Asia in venues including the Chateau de Fontainebleau, Gijon City Hall, and the Wallis Anneberg Center for the Performing Arts.
A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the Peabody Conservatory of Music, and the University of Southern California, Miss Xie will perform works by Schubert, Liszt, Faure, Scarlatti, and Johann Strauss.
