Christmas is Treva’s favorite time of year, especially the preparations – finding the perfect tree, decorating the house, and making presents for her family. But this year is different. Jennifer Stuart is the director of Seed Preschool, a mobile nature school that meets at Twelve Hills Nature Center in Oak Cliff, in a retired school bus called Matilda. In a world where children spend far less time outdoors than generations before them, Seed Preschool offers a rare opportunity for nature immersion. Jennifer has engaged the minds of young children for over 25 years as a preschool director, teacher, and homeschooling parent. She practiced a green lifestyle long before it was the trend, in fact, it is a way of life. She tends her backyard farm with chickens and a garden of vegetables and native plants. She has a committed yoga practice and is a certified Texas Master Naturalist. She enjoys knitting, reading, and time with family and friends.
It’ll be a 25 minute read followed by a short discussion with the kids–that’s going to be interesting, we can’t wait to see what they come up with.
The book is geared for Preschool ages 3-5, but all ages are welcome.
