Ethnic Jewelry Trunk Show

Curiosities

In the 1970s, Susan Brown was the chief buyer for the Dallas Art Museum gift shop. Her job allowed her to travel the world and explore different cultures. Thus bringing a wide assortment of ethnic artisan objects to the gift shop. An artist herself, working in fibers, she brought a keen sensibility for the unique and unusual in the pieces that she selected. Dealers in ethnic jewelry from around the globe would drop by the DMA to show her their discoveries.

At her estate, a suitcase was found with a treasure trove of pieces from her own collection. Amber, coral, African trade beads, shells, stamped silver, and more....

This is a RARE opportunity to see pieces that have been off the marketplace for over 40+ years.
