This traditional service narrates the nativity of Christ, from the prophecies of the Old Testament to their fulfillment in His birth, read by members of the Dallas community. Interspersed will be the carols of Advent and Christmas, led by St John's children's and adult choirs and instrumentalists, offering choral music of Rutter, Willan, Palestrina, and Mendelssohn. This festival service begins at 5 pm.
An extended prelude concert of Advent and Christmas music will begin at 4.30pm, performed by harpist Karen Abrahamson Thomas and violinist Catherine Price Alain. A reception will follow the service in the parish hall. All are invited to attend.
