Senior Social Hour

Nicholson Memorial Library System - Central Library

Celebrate the festive season at Senior Social Hour.  The Nicholson Memorial Library System presents an afternoon of holiday and classical music performed by the Horn Choir. The Choir appears at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Central Library, 625 Austin St., in Downtown Garland.

The Horn Choir is a French horn-exclusive group of musicians that perform in combinations of four to eight players. Their repertoire includes pieces such as Handel's Water Music, The Entertainer Rag, Pennsylvania Polka, Simple Gifts, as well as barbershop and jazz-style tunes. The Choir has performed at the Plano Senior Center and the Richardson Public Library. For their debut Senior Social Hour performance, the Horn Choir will present an hour of holiday and classical music.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Senior Social Hour programs are free and open to anyone 55 years of age and older. Donations of gently-used books and media for the Friends of the Library book sale will be accepted at the program. No registration is required to attend the event, but seats do fill up quickly. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. Please be aware that photographs and video may be taken at Library programs for use in print and/or electronic media at the Library’s discretion.
