Caryl Gordon: Free Speech

Haley-Henman Gallery at Open Studio 516 proudly presents mixed media encaustic paintings by Caryl Gordon.

Gordon explains the title, Free Speech, as "Being bold, honest, not afraid to express myself, setting up new problem-solving experiences where I can organize the disorganized in an open, true-to-myself way. Not comparing myself to other artists, but letting my inner self come forth on the substrate…"In addition to this open studio of her most recent paintings, Haley-Henman will be arranging visits to her studio in Plano by invitation. Gordon draws on her sixteen years of printmaking in developing her process of being open to unpredictability and the invention of new techniques. Her affinity for encaustic medium is evident in how she manipulates the layers of wax and colors.

A reception with the artist is on Saturday, December 14, 7-9 pm. A conversation is on Saturday, December 16 at 3 pm.

Haley-Henman at Open Studio 516 is located at 516 Fabrication Street in the Trinity Groves neighborhood of West Dallas. Hours are Thursday, Friday, Saturday 12-5 pm.
