Northside Hollow

Eastfield College

The Eastfield College Theatre Department is honored to be the first academic institution to produce and perform Northside Hollow, by playwrights Jonathan Fielding and Brenda Withers. Northside Hollow had its regional premiere in February 2017 at Amphibian Stage Productions in Fort Worth, and its world premiere at the Harbor Stage Company in Massachusetts. This will be the third time the show is being staged.

Trapped underground after a deadly collapse, a miner finds his salvation in the arrival of a young and inexperienced first responder. While they wait for additional rescue assistance, they discover they have more in common than they realize. Uplifting and redemptive, Northside Hollow explores the deepest questions of life and is an intimate portrait of mortality and memory.

Mara Richards Bim, adjunct professor and founder of Cry Havoc Theater Company, will direct. Additionally, Northside Hollow will feature scenic and lighting design by Lori Honeycutt, with assistance from Lucas Barnes, sound design by Jerome Phillips, props design by Korey Elizabeth Rushing-Parker, and costume design by Dusty Reasons-Thomas.

Northside Hollow will run Thursday, November 16 and Friday, November 17 at the Eastfield College Performance Hall. There are free matinees on November 16 at 11 am and November 17 at 11:15 am. Evening performances on Thursday and Friday are at 7:30 pm, and tickets are $7 for students, $10 general admission. Tickets are available at the door, or over the phone at 972-860-8381. For groups of 8 or more, please contact Dusty Reasons-Thomas at 972-860-7653 or [email protected].
