What Has the Government Been Hiding? 54 Years of Secrets & the Release of the JFK Records

Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

The President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 mandated that after a period of twenty-five years, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) must release all withheld government files pertaining to the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy. That deadline was October 26, 2017, when the bulk of the remaining assassination-related records was released. What will be revealed in these previously withheld documents? What light might they shed on the subject of the assassination?

Noted authors Dr. Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics and Philip Shenon, former New York Times reporter, will discuss the ramifications and revelations of the recent records release and those that remain closed until April 2018, with moderator Dave Davies on Saturday, November 18 at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.

Following the program, Philip Shenon will be available to sign copies of his book, A Cruel and Shocking Act, on sale at the Museum Bookstore or the Museum Store + Café, located at 501 Elm Street. Signed copies of Sabato’s The Kennedy Half-Century will also be available for sale.

Space is limited, and the program is expected to sell out quickly, so buy your tickets today.
