Rejection—it’s the tie that binds us. It’s also really sucks. And no one knows rejection quite like writers do.
That got us thinking (much to the chagrin of publishers everywhere, we’re sure), writers devote so much of their time to getting a piece just right, only to see it tossed off, misinterpreted and forsaken. Why not give those meticulously crafted pieces a moment a shine?
Real DFW writers send us real pieces that were really rejected. We pull them together to find a common thread. They share their own pieces LIVE at The Wild Detectives in the historic Bishop Arts District of Oak Cliff, Texas (which some people are calling the Brooklyn of Texas, apparently). They follow those pieces up with their REAL rejection letters. They toss those rejections into a big trash can. We all go home feeling like we’ve really stuck it to the man.
