Angela Kallus - Waterloo

The Reading Room

The Reading Room presents Waterloo, an exhibition of drawings by Angela Kallus, from October 28 through December 9. The drawings began as exercises in perspective for her students. They depict collectible, pocket-sized publications that were mass produced between 1919 and 1978 by the Haldeman-Julius Publishing Company of Girard, Kanses on topics ranging from philosophy and literature to sex education and practical matters.

There will be a reception on Saturday, October 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kallus received a BFA from the University of Texas, Arlington, and MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she studied with Dave Hickey. Her work has been shown at Peter Mendenhall Gallery/Los Angeles and Circuit 12 and Marty Walker Gallery in Dallas. Kallus was a finalist for the Hunting Art Prize in 2016. She lives in Fort Worth and teaches at UT Arlington.
