Daniel D. Maurer on Resilience and Personal Transformation

King of Glory Lutheran Church

Author and former pastor Daniel D. Maurer will feature stories of real people who faced enormous challenges in “Faith: Does It Matter?” The stories are from his new book Endure: The Power of Spiritual Assets for Resilience to Trauma & Stress. They include a Syrian refugee forced to flee his homeland, a victim of domestic violence, and a mother whose beloved son died of a drug overdose. Each of the stories, including his own of alcohol and drug addiction, clearly displays how spiritual assets—honesty, gratitude, courage, forgiveness, perseverance, imagination and hope—make a difference in a person’s ability to bounce back after trauma or stress. Honesty was Maurer's route to transformation. Maurer’s books, including the graphic novels Papa Luther and Sobriety, will be available for purchase and book-signing following the event.
