2017 James Hillman Symposium

Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture

The sixth annual James Hillman Symposium, 27-28 October 2017, provides a window into the fascinating mind of James Hillman, a world-renowned psychologist and best-selling author, who helped found Dallas’ preeminent humanities center, the Dallas Institute. Honoring his work, the eponymous conference brings international experts in Hillman’s archetypal psychology to Dallas for a weekend of talks, breakout sessions, and conversations. The 2017 Symposium will consider his insights into the myths that underpin our culture and our psyches, Mythic Figures [volume 6.1 of the Uniform Edition co-published by Spring Publications and the Dallas Institute]. The registration fee for the Friday and Saturday program includes a special screening of Gods of War, a prescient lecture Hillman delivered in Dallas in 2005, an intimate dinner with Symposium speakers, a working lunch, and closing celebration reception.
