From the Oval Office to Dallas Love Field: White House Correspondent Sid Davis Remembers

Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

As White House Correspondent for the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company, Sid Davis closely followed President Kennedy on an almost daily basis. In this special presentation, marking the 55th anniversary of the Cuban missile crisis, Davis will share candid memories from two of the most significant stories he covered during the Kennedy years.

In October 1962, Davis was in the Oval Office when President Kennedy demanded that Soviet missiles be removed from Cuba. Just over a year later, Davis covered the Kennedy assassination and was one of three journalists to witness the swearing-in of President Johnson aboard Air Force One at Love Field. His gripping eyewitness narrative offers a uniquely personal window into two of the most historic events of the 20th century.

From 1960 to 1982, Davis covered, interviewed or directed coverage of nine U.S. presidents.

Don’t miss this unique eyewitness perspective on these historic events and more.
