Lawn Games at the Historical Park

Farmers Branch Historical Park

What do Billy the Kid and George Washington have in common? They both loved lawn games! A recently discovered photo of Billy the Kid shows him and his gang relaxing with a game of croquet in the summer of 1878. And our first President grew up playing lawn bowling at Mount Vernon. Come to the Historical Park this fall to try your hand at both croquet and bocce (similar to lawn bowling). Visit the Gazebo between 12:30 and 5:30 to borrow a set of lawn games and an instructional booklet, then pick your favorite grassy area in the Park to enjoy. Play the game, return the set to the gazebo, and have a great day. Why not make an event of it and pack a picnic too? More information available on our website at FBHistoricalPark.com or by contacting the Historical Park at 972.406.0184 or [email protected].
