Building Pharaoh's Chariot

Southern Methodist University - Fondren Science Building

While horse-drawn war chariots feature heavily in New Kingdom art, Egyptologists have long wondered how these chariots were actually used in warfare.  Kathryn Hansen, who was featured on PBS Nova's “Building Pharaoh’s Chariot," will discuss her most recent research on ancient Egyptian chariots and harnesses.

A free lecture will be held at Southern Methodist University at Fondren Science Center, Room 123, Dallas, Texas on Friday, September 22, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.  There will be a pre-lecture meet and greet at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, September 23, 2017, Kathryn will present a seminar providing a behind-the -scenes view of the PBS Nova special. The seminar will start at 9:30 a.m. at Southern Methodist University, Dallas Hall, Room 306 and should end about 3:00 p.m.  There is a suggested donation of $50 for the seminar.
