Encounters from the Past

Farmers Branch Historical Park

Farmers Branch Keenan Cemetery

Encounters from the Past, living history cemetery tours, will be focused on a new theme this year: Stories of Service. With a dozen vignettes focused on those citizens who served the Farmers Branch, Carrollton, and North Texas communities in substantial ways, the 2017 tours will take guests from the founding of Texas through the 1970s. You and your family will have a chance to meet a World War I aeroplane pilot, a World War II nurse (and the only woman from our area to serve in the armed forces during that conflict), not to mention school teachers, firemen, mothers, preachers, and more as costumed actors take on the roles of these prominent citizens during an evening of storytelling, history, and family fun.

This lamp-lit tour will feature many entirely new or updated stories this year. Crafts and information will also be available. Tours depart every 15 minutes starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. For more information visit FBCemeteryTours.com.
