Ward Stare, Conductor
Paul Appleby, Tenor
Molly Norcross, Horn
The second movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 has achieved immortality as one of the most somber, yet simultaneously uplifting symphonic movements in the repertoire. Guest conductor Ward Stare takes to the podium to lead the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven’s complete masterpiece as well as Arnolds’s delightful Four Scottish Dances. Plus, FWSO Principal Horn Molly Norcross and tenor Paul Appleby unite to perform Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, a setting of six poems on the subject of night.
