Join Fort Works Art for North Texas artist Hillary Dohoney's first large scale solo show titled adrift, an exhibition exploring roots and heritage and showcasing Dohoney's peaceful techniques using realism and trompe l'oeil. The exhibit will also spotlight 'Hiraerth,' Dohoney's painted interpretations of refugee experiences and their most cherished possessions.
Adrift will be paired with the exhibit 40 Under 40 juried by Maggie Adler of the Amon Carter Museum -- dedicated to finding young, new talent across the Nation. North Texas musician Sam Lao will perform on the roof of Fort Works Art Gallery, with additional performances from Ronnie Heart, for an evening of celebration with the Modern Contemporaries. The opening reception for adrift and 40 Under 40 and Modern Contemporaries event is Friday, September 15, 2017, with the concert launching at 9 p.m. To make a reservation for the Modern Contemporaries event, please contact [email protected].
