To open the 30th Anniversary season for the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, Artistic Director, Gary Levinson, has brought together an incredible group of chamber musicians and repertoire for this opening concert. Levinson explains that for this concert “we have unusual groupings such as the Prokofiev 2 violin sonatas and a Schubert string trio, but their sonority and structure make it very familiar and appealing to the ear.” Thus, the title of this concert, “No Translation Necessary” suggests that the combination of artists and repertoire speaks for itself.
Works to be performed are:
- Prokofiev: Sonata for Two Violins in C Major, Op. 56
- Prokofiev: Violin Sonata No. 1 in F Minor Op. 80
- Schubert: String Trio in B flat Major, D 471
- Shostakovich: Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op .57
Established chamber musicians in the ensemble include Gary Levinson and Francesca de Pasquale, violins; Richard Young, viola; Bion Tsang, cello; Pavel Nersessian, piano.
