Speaking of Movies….

Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture

Quentin Tarantino once said, “If a million people see my movie, I hope they see a million different movies.” Something like that approach to film-watching catches the spirit of this long-running Institute group: resident film critic Scott Churchill keeps his eye on new releases from week to week, assigns the group two or three titles a month to see on their own, and then brings members together in discussion—to compare individual experiences, to agree and disagree, and to enjoy their common love of movies. Often inviting guest critics to join him, Scott leads with his expertise and film-watching experience. As always, the semester will conclude with dinner-and-a-classic-movie, a perennial favorite.
