North Texas Giving Day

Communities Foundation of Texas

The nation’s largest giving day is back for its ninth year on September 14, 2017. In eight years, North Texas Giving Day, powered by Communities Foundation of Texas, has generated $156 million for the community. In 2016, the day raised a record-breaking $37 million for 2,518 nonprofits.

On Giving Day, donations can be made from 6 a.m. to midnight to all 2,500 certified nonprofits listed on www.northtexasgivingday.org. New this year, donations may also be scheduled online in advance starting on September 7. Donations up to $10,000 will be amplified by bonus funds and prizes in addition to the 1:1 matching funds raised by individual nonprofits to further boost donations. Last year, 272 nonprofits raised $5.7 million in matching funds.

Additionally, donation station events will take place across North Texas;

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Dallas County Donation Station at NorthPark Center will feature free nonprofit performances and the inaugural volunteer fair where volunteers can learn about different nonprofits, donate their loose change, and participate in hands-on philanthropic activities. The event will also include cash prize drawings for participating nonprofits in attendance.

9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. – The Fort Worth Donation Station event at Sundance Square (420 Main St, Fort Worth, TX 76102,) will feature ten $1,000 prizes and nonprofit performances.

5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Denton County Donation Station at the Denton Square on the Courthouse Green (at 110 West Hickory, Denton, TX). Attendees can enjoy live music, entertainment from the Denton County nonprofit community, comments from city officials, and special activities for children.

5 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Collin County Donation Station will include remarks, food trucks, games, music, and 75 nonprofit booths at Finch Park (301 W. Standifer Street, McKinney) near historic downtown McKinney.

5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – The Arlington GIVES! Concert will be a free community event at Levitt Pavilion with a musical performance by native Fort Worth bluesman Josh Weathers. The event also will feature Arlington-based charity booths, food trucks, and other activities.
