Adults can create their own string art at the Nicholson Memorial Library System’s String Art Workshop, part of the Adult Summer Reading Program. The workshop will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 at the Central Library.

String art is made by stringing colored thread between points in a geometrical or representational design. Several different design patterns will be available at this event for the attendees’ selection. All supplies, including boards, yarn, and embroidery thread will be provided by the library.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, this program is limited to 12 individuals aged 18 and older. Registration is required and begins July 5. To register, please call 972-205-2501. The Central Library is located at 625 Austin St., in Downtown Garland. Please be aware that photographs and video may be taken at Library programs for use in print and/or electronic media at the Library’s discretion.
