Class #2 (10 a.m. – 12 noon): Spot On: Pop Art Parodies

Campers will design and create posters that depict humorous versions of well-known works of art in the signature style of Roy Lichtenstein complete with comic strip lines, primary colors and Ben-Day dots.

Class #3 (1 – 3 p.m.): Let’s Build a Better World

Since 5,000 BCE people have used architecture to improve their lives. Whether building houses, places to work, places to worship or places to play, architects have used their artistic and engineering knowledge and creativity to create places meant to improve lives and uplift spirits.

Participants will study architects and buildings that make the world a better, safer and happier place to live. Works from various cultures and periods will be studied– from the first simple houses to today’s most complex skyscrapers. Campers will then dream, design, draw and build their own great spaces.

Instructor: Robert Batson
