Pop Art Portrait Painting

Color, dimension, line and pattern will transform a photograph-based portrait into an ‘out of this world’ work of art.

Explore Pop Art techniques and styles inspired by artists such as Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein and Jasper Johns to create art work featuring lettering and numbers.

Soft Serve: the Sculpture of Claes Oldenburg

Campers will create Claes Oldenburg-inspired soft sculptures of sweets and/or their favorite fast food that look good enough to actually eat!

Get Into the Groove Percussion
(Music)
Students will “get into the groove” of the 70s by exploring and learning rhythms of iconic hits from the era. Using a drum machine/sequences, hand drums and other percussion instruments, students will build their own sequences based on R&B, rock & roll and other genres of the decade.

‘60s Dance Craze Daze – Part 2
(Dance/Movement/Cultural Studies)
Dancers will explore more dances from the 1960s including the Hitch Hike, the Monster Mash, the Watusi, the Monkey and the Frug. We will also Bristol Stomp, Pony, Fly and Swim! Comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes are recommended. No sandals or flip flops, please.
