"Interrupted Paths" by Donnie Copeland

"Interrupted Paths" is an exhibition of new artworks by artist Donnie Copeland, who uses the material and processes of painting to explore a new approach to the subject matter of landscape. Shying away from direct associations with representation, Copeland expands the genre to incorporate a broad variety of environmental stimuli -- from the patterns found on and in the earth to the notion of sounds and rhythms as landscape. Working primarily with painted paper, Copeland’s non-objective collage canvases emphasize pattern, texture, color and mark.
