Is your child always performing around the house? Singing and dancing their way to dinner?
Performing scenes with their stuffed animals? Getting the neighborhood kids together for a theatrical performance?
Here’s an opportunity to develop those skills in a fun-filled, two-week musical theatre workshop. Summer Showtunes is sponsored by the Westside Players and directed by Lois Leftwich.

Summer Showtunes gives kids ages 7-17 a chance to work with acting, singing and dancing professionals who will nurture their hidden or not-so-hidden talents through scenes, songs and dances from a variety of Broadway musicals, both current and classic. Material will be selected to showcase the talents of the participants. Westside Players has brought together a team of instructors that will not only teach acting, singing and dancing technique, but will also direct the kids in their showcase numbers.
Starting July 10 and culminating in a Showcase on Saturday, July 22, we will meet Mondays-Fridays at 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., July 10 - July 21, 2017. On the day of the show, Saturday, July 22, we will rehearse on stage at Central Christian Church from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Our Summer Showtunes performance will be at 3 p.m
Instruction and rehearsal will take place at Central Christian Church, 4411 Westside Dr. in Highland Park, Dallas. The cost is only $449 for this opportunity to develop your child’s triple-threat skills in a friendly and fun learning environment. Cost includes a video file of Summer Showtunes shot by one of our professional team so you can enjoy the performance now and in the future!
