Nicholson Memorial Library System - Central Library

Enjoy an evening of jazz music as the Nicholson Memorial Library System presents the Matt Tolentino Band at 7 p.m., on Thursday, June 8, at the Central Library, 625 Austin St., in Downtown Garland.

Tolentino, a native of Dallas, specializes in popular pre-swing music from the 1895 to 1935 period. He frequently performs at theaters and clubs in Dallas and leads three bands, including the four-piece Matt Tolentino Band; a seven-piece group, The Royal Klobasneks; and an 18-piece foxtrot orchestra, The Singapore Slingers. For this performance, Tolentino’s four-piece band will present jazz and ragtime music of the 1920s and 30s.
